Our Story

With the transformation of a single blighted lot into an outdoor art classroom created with and for Binghampton children, Carpenter Art Garden was born in July 2012.

Over the next few years, a growing number of passionate neighborhood residents, Memphis artists, and generous volunteers joined us to build a safe haven dedicated to helping kids in Binghampton create their best futures.

Our commitment to listening and responding to the needs, ideas, and dreams of Binghampton children and adults helped us grow into the vibrant community we are today. The Art Garden provides free year round arts, educational, and vocational programs in eight beautiful spaces along Carpenter Street.
